Peas of the same pod

Who does our little boy resemble?

Over the last few months his features been changing and his resemblance to one of us was getting more apparent. So which wan??Well, here’s the answer:

Yup! The older Wan

Guess apart from my eyes and untamed hair, he inherited the rest of his facial features from the older Wan. :-(

My little monster

I thought I have read and heard all I need to know about motherhood. But I was sorely wrong. Nothing prepared me for hourly feed, from 2.30 am till 8am in the morning. I am not sure how long I can keep up with this eating machine.

Here's a foto of the little monster . Come visit him soon.

Pigging out on PORK!!

We were unable to get a seat at Crystal Jade Dinning last Sunday @ Vivocity. But today we are back with a vengence. There was no stopping the hunger of a woman who craves for pork!Checkout what we had at Crystal Jade La Mian (Suntec) together with reknown Xiao Long Bao critic (Ms S of course). Don't blink an eye.

Mr Wan's Ma La Mian (Super Spicy), which he loves, but I think it has a bit of an indian curry taste

Ms S's, Zha Jiang Mian which looks a little strange because of the generous serving of gravy. The saving grace for this joint is their scrumptious Xiao Long Bao, checkout the look on Ms S face, you know they have got a WINNER.

Ms S, " Yummy! Juicy! CJ has the best Xiao long Bao in Singapore. I'll be back"

Besides noodles and xiao long baos, we also had the traditional carrot pastry and a new item - Shanghai pan-fried pork buns which are pork buns with a seared bottom on a hot plate. Delicious!!!

It's a plane ... oops it's a bird

Guess whose car was target by the resident pigeons of Dumbar walk?? Look on :

According to the weather girl Ms S., " Oh no worries abt it, the rain will come."
Humm... rain well we'll see, it feels like 30 deg C. Let's hope Mr Ho doesn't see this.

Learning To Relax

It's been 3 days since we've been here in Jogyakarta and we're beginning to get into the swing of things. The weekend was spent catching up on sleep after the chaos of the last week.

The hotel is really pretty (couldn't load pic, will try again later) with its beautiful colonial architecture, much like the Raffles Hotel in S'pore. The perfect environment to relax, or in my case, to learn to relax. It has been a long while since I picked up a book to read for fun and this book I have in hand just happens to have 1088 pages! Have been feeling guilty over the weekend over the fact that I didn't take out my work to do. I had to force myself not to take out my jewellery making supplies and start straightaway. Felt so decadent just taking a swim or a leisurely dinner! While I did get to do some work today, am trying to take it easy at least for the next few days as I've been so highly strung over the past few months. Even on arrival here, I had all this nervous energy and just couldn't get to sleep but am so glad to be getting some rest now! Having said all that stuff about relaxing, I am starting indonesian language school tomorrow, 4 hours a session, twice weekly, and Karl says it aint easy. He had his first day today and it was major taxing. Already, he got dumped with homework ! He has individual coaching with 3 different teachers over 6 hours daily. No chance to hide behind other classmates, and it was just incessant quizzing and conversation. Kind of like having Gehlen or Neumann to yourself, he says. But the Indonesians are certainly less scathing. Or at the very least, they try not to laugh at you too openly.

Oh well....at least Bahasa lessons will be for me a distraction from making clothes and jewellery all the time. And we are both learning to cherish and enjoy each new adventure.

The Tree came tumbling DOWN...

The time was 00:30, Sunday morning, Mr Clumsy Wan decided to take on a new persona, the incredible Ben Wan (aka Lumberjack). A lumberjack got to do what a lumberjack gotta do. A loud "CROCK" and down came the tree, lights, decor and all. Only 1 snowman survived.(See Photo below)

Bye Bye Xmas Tree.
